This restaurant run by the Plachutta family, who are also behind several other establishments, is a Viennese institution. It is popular with regulars and visitors alike – and with good reason. Centrally located just a stone's throw from St Stephen's Cathedral, it serves flavoursome Austrian cuisine. Their signatures are dishes made with local beef in various forms – Tafelspitz (beef simmered in broth) in aspic is particularly worth ordering. You can dine in the inviting interior with green wood panelling or out on the large terrace.
