In the sumptuous surroundings of the Grand Hotel Savoia, the name pays homage to Cortina’s altitude, but one cannot help but suspect that chef Federico Rovacchi will also take your taste buds to new heights. With two tasting menus (one featuring the classics, the other dedicated to the latest creations) and à la carte options, the cuisine here is of an extraordinary standard. It ranges from mountainous landscapes to international influences, including those from Asia, all presented with good taste, style and elegance. A number of ingredients are cooked over charcoal to superb effect, with the flavours and ingredients really coming into their own.
