Expect vibrant, expressive cooking at this warmly decorated neighbourhood restaurant just outside the city centre. The chef is a dab hand with bold, distinctive flavours, has a fondness for international seasonings, and likes to put vegetables centre stage. The intensity of pan-roasted Anjou pigeon breast is held in balance by wine-marinated fig, a pigeon broth infused with vadouvan spices and a cream made with the pigeon liver. Call this cuisine playful, generous and intriguing – and you wouldn't be wrong. The freedom to build your own set menu from the extensive à la carte selection, which includes plenty of vegetarian choices, is a welcome feature. What's not to like?
