Located on the rooftop of the AthensWas boutique hotel—accessed via the lift to the sixth floor and then up a flight of stairs—SENSE features a truly special panoramic terrace, as it offers spectacular views of the Acropolis (especially at sunset)! Curated by chef Alexandros Charalabopoulos, the culinary offering centres around two tasting menus called Roots & Reflections and Roots of Greek Nature (a vegetarian option is also available). He champions Greek culinary tradition but with a contemporary and refined twist, reinterpreting childhood favourites and traditional dishes (tzatziki, pastitsio, kayanás, etc.) from different regions of Greece. His creativity shines through in every course, but we were bowled over by the combination of Vine Leaf Dolma | Herb Rice | Mint & Lemon Sorbet | Vine Leaf Cream with Grapes | Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Ancient Olympia (Tsampidolia variety)—a refreshing trompe-l'œil that looks just like a grape leaf.
