On the fifth floor of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), a cutting-edge complex that also houses the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera, sits this restaurant, which stands out for its dining areas, featuring design details such as the bronze bar, magical trees suspended from the ceiling, and breathtaking ocean views. Chef George Papazacharias offers creative cuisine with a deep commitment to mindful gastronomy, which explains the amount of attention paid to the origin of the ingredients (from his own vegetable garden, locally sourced, sustainably caught, etc.). The service is based around a single 12-course tasting menu called Omnivore, which includes eye-catching trompe-l’oeil dishes, a vegetarian option, and a variety of wine pairing choices. We loved their tuna aged in koji, served with chili peppers, a paste of plum pits, and amazake sauce. The sommelier, Dimitris Zannikos, really knows how to make the most of the impressive wine cellar!
