This place is a veritable culinary institution, and not only here in the region. A restaurant where tradition is upheld, but by no means in an old-fashioned way; rather, with carefully curated concessions to modernity. This ethos is also reflected in the dishes cooked up by dedicated chef duo Christian Baur and Konstantin Keller. They are dab hands at successfully combining the classic French cuisine of the legendary Schwarzer Adler with modern influences. However, you needn't do without much-loved tried-and-tested dishes such as "Bresse poularde en vessie" (served for two people or more) or "loup de mer en croute". This cosy, stylish and elegant restaurant will go down well with wine lovers on account of its extensive wine list, which ranks among the best in Germany. The Bordeaux selection is outstanding, with a fantastic range of vintages. Terrific German labels including some from the restaurant's vineyard (owned by the family for three generations). The property also has tastefully decorated guestrooms. And for more down-to-earth dining, there is Winzerhaus Rebstock.
