Following the success of Ljubljana, the second Jaz by Ana Roš has opened along the pleasant seafront promenade of Poreč, within the elegant contemporary spaces of the Hotel Jadran Heritage. The celebrated three-starred chef thus brings her more informal and vivacious interpretation of cuisine to Croatia as well: a relaxed and dynamic experience reflected even in the background music. From breakfast to dinner, by way of a simple and direct lunch menu, the proposal follows a modern and enjoyable Mediterranean line, built primarily around local ingredients. The fish, for example, comes almost exclusively from local fishermen. Italian references emerge here and there, as in the vitello tonnato or the “caprese Jaz”, a reinterpretation of the celebrated Capri cake served with zabaione cream, alongside French touches visible, for instance, in the use of beurre blanc. In summertime, outdoor service naturally becomes the most pleasurable choice, while the wine offering is complemented by a well-curated cocktail selection, ranging from great classics to signature creations.
