In Le Petit Juas, a neighbourhood in the upper reaches of Cannes, Côté Jardin has been taken over by Steve Moracchini and transformed into a charming bistro. Previously pastry chef at La Passagère, he delivers a generous, no-nonsense menu rife with Mediterranean influences: confit leeks, hazelnut crumble and a delicate honey vinaigrette; tenderly braised feather blade of beef, a reduced jus and saffron-infused fregola sarda. Naturally, the dessert – caramelised mille-feuille with apples – reflects the chef's talent for sweets. Whether in the bright interior or out on the veranda or small terrace, the atmosphere is convivial. Prices are very reasonable for Cannes.
