A traditional Campine country villa provides the charming backdrop for this upmarket restaurant. It has become a favourite haunt of gourmets from Kalmthout and beyond - and for good reason. Ben Kips’ creative score draws on premium produce as he consummately blends Mediterranean, Asian and South American influences because they genuinely enhance the dish and not because he’s following gimmicky trends. A few examples: langoustine in a lemongrass consommé and a dim sum stuffed with a fricassée of the crustacean, carrots and XO sauce or a raspberry extravaganza paired with feta and watermelon to great effect. Kips exalts the multiple facets of his ingredients without ever altering their intrinsic character, treating us to a bang-up meal every time! Spot-on plating adds the final flourish to this fine dining banquet.
