At this restaurant in a beautiful historical house on the road leading to the imposing Basilika Rankweil, the culinary focus is firmly on the region. Young and ambitious Dominic Mayer and his team serve surprise menus only – diners decide on the number of courses. Fresh seasonal ingredients go into dishes prepared with a personal touch. Traditional and modern combine to form the basis of the cuisine, which adheres to "leaf to root" and "nose to tail" principles. Other plus points are the extremely friendly service and a well-curated wine list – all of the Vinothek wines are also available for purchase. The aesthetic is attractive with its blend of rustic charm and modern features. It is a joy to sit out on the terrace with its shady plane trees when the weather is good. The Tapas Bar in the historical vault is also open Thu-Sat. Another interesting option is the "Brasserie Pop-Up" on Mondays, when changing à la carte dishes are served.
