At this bistro with its inviting lounge feel, Isabelle Boer shows that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. She combines the passion for wine she inherited from her mother, Thérèse, with her father Jonnie's love of the Dutch terroir. From kingfish cheeks glazed with an intense unagi sauce and topped with chives and croutons, to succulent Zwolse balletjes – meatballs in a rich tomato sauce topped with grated Olde Remeker cheese – you can savour classic flavours with her distinctive Boer touch in a relaxed setting. It's familiar, yet somehow different. The exceptional wine list is worthy of De Librije – what a selection! – but there are options to suit every budget. A real gem in the lively heart of Zwolle!
