Once past Vietri sul Mare on the way to the Amalfi Coast, the Giardini del Fuenti overlook the sea from a spectacular vantage point, stretching between the beach, terraced gardens and the Riva Restaurant, which is open just for lunch and often hosts events dedicated to food and wine. The dining room, featuring large windows that frame one of the coast’s most picturesque landscapes, offers the ideal setting for a culinary experience that draws on the traditions of Campania with a contemporary twist. The kitchen reinterprets local recipes and flavours through carefully crafted, simple dishes, with a particular focus on the quality of the ingredients. The experience can be tailored through a range of tasting itineraries, including a more comprehensive, themed one. Among the highlights of the meal were the sumptuous welcome canapés – with a special mention for the now-famous ‘asinello vietrese’ – and dishes of great balance, such as the veal sweetbreads with citrus fruits, walnuts and rocket.
