L'avis du Guide Michelin

Nestling amidst lush green foliage and dominated by its castle, the quaint village of Belcastel climbs up the hilly right bank of the Aveyron River and its steep cobbled paths are perfect to work up an appetite! Quietly feeding hungry travellers is something of a tradition in this family-run business opened by the grandparents of sisters Nicole and Michèle Fagegaltier, now at the helm. The enticing menu naturally highlights local delicacies such as lamb and veal from Ségala, Aubrac beef, Bigorre black pork and farmhouse cheese, without forgetting a weak spot for fish. Standouts include a medley of tomato textures, paired with a refreshing sorbet; Arctic char and baby courgettes flanked by a lemon grass and ginger-flavoured stock; farm-raised beef and bacon-laced mash. Food that satisfies the soul and the stomach!
