You’ll find The Pecatarian in a handsome white building set between the Little Mermaid sculpture at the water’s edge and Amalienborg Palace, the winter residence of the Danish Royal Family. It comprises several rooms – ask for the one overlooking the kitchen – and comes with a pleasingly buzzy, laid-back vibe. There’s a short à la carte that centres, unsurprisingly, on fish but also offers vegetarian dishes too. Weekdays also see a good value four-course menu that features the likes of cod with morels and bisque or langoustine carpaccio with yuzu and piment d'Espelette chilli.
