This 14th-century, thatched-roofed former pub now houses a contemporary restaurant, although its traditional charm remains thanks to low beams and classic Norfolk flint stone walls. The cooking uses the best of the county’s ingredients in dishes ranging from the classics to those showing more imagination and flair; go for the tasting menu to see the kitchen's talents to the full, or the 'menu du jour' for the best value. Charming, enthusiastic service adds to the appeal, as do smart bedrooms in the converted coach house and a nearby cottage.
