A former fishmongers has been savvily repurposed into a charming pocket handkerchief restaurant. Lucile Voisin and Grégory Ménard (Choko-Ona and Grand Hôtel de Saint-Jean-de Luz) have left nothing to chance from the terracotta walls, linen-coloured banquettes and pale wooden tables to the exquisite tableware: silverware, hand-crafted Basque ceramics and cutlery. The menu is inspired by the availability of fresh local produce and the chef’s boundless creativity. Barbecued venison steak, shoulder as fritters and variations on the butternut; citrus fruits in a meringue nest with a yuzu-laced house-made lemonade: hard work, impeccable taste, colour and creativity.
