Records of this charming half-timbered house in the historic town centre date back to the 16C, when it was a tavern, and it is one of the oldest inns on the Southern Wine Route. In a relaxed atmosphere, it serves up seasonal cuisine that explores its ties to the region but also draws on international influences, as the chef incorporates impressions from his travels. The menu features dishes such as "black pudding praline", "black pepper chicken" and "braised beef cheek with potato and a beurre noisette foam". The restaurant is also open for lunch on Sat and Sun. Burg Trifels, the castle perched above the village, and the surrounding countryside with its woods and vineyards are ideal terrain for walks.
