Tucked away on the floor of a steep, wooded valley, this former corn mill is full of rustic character, with cluttered, low-beamed rooms, open fires and cosy snugs. The seasonally influenced menus make great use of Yorkshire produce and include an à la carte, a tasting menu, vegan options, Sunday roasts and sandwiches for lighter lunches. Across the board, expect hearty, flavoursome dishes such as pie of the day with garlic mash and creamed cabbage. The young team are organised and welcoming, while boutique bedrooms add to the appeal.
