You can't keep Alain Roux away from the banks of the Thames. Up the road from his famous Waterside Inn, he owns this contemporary brasserie in a similarly pleasant riverside setting. The skill and confidence of the chefs is evident across the menu of traditional French and other European dishes, such as the wonderfully satisfying crab bisque linguine with lemon stracciatella. If you're lucky, there might be a fruits de mer platter chalked up on the blackboard specials. Arrive early for drinks on the terrace or in the cocktail bar.
