The team behind Hannappel in Essen have brought to life another interesting culinary concept in this fashionable spot with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Tables are laid out in a clean, minimalist space, and the service is friendly, engaged and attentive. The open kitchen turns out modern international dishes such as "Beef tartare, bone marrow, egg yolk, pearl onion, horseradish" and "Pike-perch, teriyaki, sauerkraut, spicy risotto, tom kha gai, charred carrot". You can order à la carte or opt for the "Chef's Choice Sharing Menu". At lunchtime, alongside a slightly more limited à la carte selection, there is a reasonably priced three-course "business lunch" deal. In summer, you might like to dine alfresco on the terrace. The restaurant is located in a mixed residential and commercial building in the centre of Bottrop, right next to the heritage-listed section of the Bauknecht Quarter. On a practical note, there is a public car park immediately outside.
