This sophisticated restaurant occupies an 18th-century mansion that is now home to MS Collection Aveiro – Palacete Valdemouro (awarded One MICHELIN Key), a historic building once inhabited by the writer and diplomat Eça de Queiroz, whose life provides the inspiration for its décor. Devised by renowned chef Rui Paula and executed each day by chef João Covas, the offering follows the motto ‘every dish tells a story’ and comprises refined dishes that showcase, above all, produce from the waters surrounding the city. A single 12-course tasting menu (which may be shortened to nine or six courses) features modern interpretations of classics such as Leitão à Bairrada, presented with intense flavours and remarkable technical precision, alongside bolder creations such as Rabanada de Enguia with pata negra ham, a fresh and beautifully balanced combination. A vegetarian version is also available.
