Fantasy creatures and colourful plants, together with souvenirs sent by faithful regulars, set the scene in the whimsical interior chosen by Xavier Lizen for his urban neighbourhood eatery. The menu (vegetarian, meat or fish) changes monthly and illustrates the chef’s playful, unconventional approach. He may enhance a velvety risotto of celeriac with a stock of slightly fermented vegetables, to which he then adds big-boned truffle aromas. Unless you wouldn’t rather prefer a new take on vol-au-vent stuffed with delicate poultry, a creamy morel sauce and a foamy espuma of verjuice-laced potatoes?
