Chef-owner Michael Schwarzenbacher puts a contemporary spin on classic cuisine with a strong regional influence. High-tech gourmet creations are not his style; instead, he combines straightforward flavour profiles with precise technique. First-rate ingredients form the basis of dishes such as an excellent Simmental beef tartare with smoked pepper and grissini. Something of a classic, the bouillabaisse of sea fish and shellfish with tortellini is also recommended. This long-established restaurant has several attractive spaces, each with its own character, including the cosy wood-panelled Wälderstube, the chic Rossini room and the light and airy Wintergarten, which overlooks the peaceful courtyard and its terrace. Andrea Schwarzenbacher and her team provide exceptionally friendly service. When it comes to wine, you can count on sound advice and a fine selection.
