Robert-Jan Polman's romantic restaurant has been a haunt for French cuisine lovers since 1974. The team at Le Vieux Jean continues to embrace that passion wholeheartedly, something that is reflected as much in the attentive service as in the food itself. The robust flavours, subtle undertones and timeless cooking methods are a testament to his culinary skill. A fine example is the Dutch veal, which is beautifully cooked medium-rare and served with a creamy veal stew, green asparagus with gremolata, morels and a rich rosemary veal jus. Dutch ingredients give the cuisine its own identity, and the kitchen's generous approach makes it all the more enjoyable. An excellent cheese selection and an impressive wine list dominated by French labels complete the experience.
