Bendor is a small private island off the coast of Bandol, accessible by boat – the crossing, which is complimentary with a booking, takes a few minutes. The island is home to three luxury hotels, nestled between a handful of fishermen's cottages and stone buildings, as well as the beach, a spa, artisans' shops and a small harbour. Le Grand Large, the island's fine dining restaurant, boasts a gorgeous terrace with woven reed shade, lemon trees and sea views. Designed by chef Lionel Lévy, the menu is a well-balanced take on the South of France, featuring light and colourful dishes, such as bluefin tuna paired with a grey shrimp consommé and vegetable pasta parcels.
