At the time-honoured Krone, your dedicated hosts – the well-travelled James Baron (previously chef at the MICHELIN-starred Amber in Hong Kong) and his charming wife Natacha – have fine-tuned an interesting concept. Delicately refined, modern, seasonal dishes focus on top-notch local ingredients. The set menus range from "Signature" (nine courses) to "Säumer" (six courses) and "Classic" (four courses); à la carte options are also available. The space is divided into two extremely inviting areas – the charming Swiss stone pine-panelled room and the convivial, more modern dining area to the rear, whose floor-to-ceiling windows bring views of the mountains, the River Inn and the herb garden inside. The whole experience is complemented by very pleasant, committed and consistently attentive service. A lovely touch: the cutlery is made by a local blacksmith. For overnight stays, there are guestrooms done out in a modern Alpine design. Tip: Across the road is Fö e Flamma dal Barun, a grill restaurant, café and bakery under one roof – a mere glance at the wonderful baked goods is enough to whet your appetite.
