Alexis and Sylvie Rageot (formerly of Saveurs des Halles in Martel) have tastefully restored the beautiful stone barn opposite their home deep in the Lot countryside. It now accommodates a cosy restaurant, where a warm welcome from Sylvie awaits, as the chef works in his glass-fronted kitchen. The lovely contemporary cuisine also makes a few forays into more traditional territory (porcini and duck confit and tart; langoustine tail and scallop ravioli). Some ingredients, such as the herbs, come from the restaurant's own kitchen garden – and, as an added bonus, the terrace is right by the swimming pool to help diners keep cool.
