Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Waldviertel, you can enjoy lovely views of the region as well as the ambitious cuisine of Michael Kolm and his team. The seasonal contemporary cuisine has plenty of flavour and a strong emphasis on regional ingredients. Diners can choose between the "Bärentrail Menü" ("Bear Trail Menu") and the vegetarian "Tierfreundliche Menü" ("Animal-Friendly Menu"), as well as à la carte options. Appealing combinations include artichoke, beef and tomato, or pike-perch with chanterelle goulash and brioche dumplings. The service is personable, warm and professional – incidentally, the first amuse-bouches are plated in the dining room. The bright, welcoming setting has a laid-back feel. In winter, a fireplace adds to the cosy atmosphere. Right next door is the Arbesbach bear sanctuary, run by the animal welfare organisation Four Paws. For an overnight stay, there are five lodges surrounded by greenery a little further down.
