L'avis du Guide Michelin
Within the Monastero Santa Rosa – one of the most iconic and captivating hotels on the Amalfi Coast, whose religious past dates to the seventeenth century, and of which many traces remain to this day – the restaurant occupies a terrace whose view sweeps from the garden and pool to the sea, in the silence of a timeless place. Chef Alfonso Crescenzo interprets Mediterranean cuisine through a philosophy encapsulated in his own motto: "Nothing is more complex than simple cooking." His offering is born from the celebration of the finest Campanian produce, much of it from the family's own organic farm, and unfolds across two tasting menus alongside the à la carte, with a perfect balance between sea, land and kitchen garden. Among the signature dishes, the Mafalda stands out: a homage to the traditional Neapolitan Sunday lunch – Gragnano pasta filled with buffalo ricotta, Agerola moscione cheese and fried aubergine, completed by small meatballs and Neapolitan ragù. The finale is devoted to the celebrated sfogliatella Santa Rosa, born in this very monastery, here reinterpreted in a contemporary version that preserves its echoes of ricotta, citrus and sour cherry preserve.
