The Van Steenberge Brewery has turned this former farmhouse into a splendid venue crowned with a handsome timber frame. Admire the scenery of rolling hopfields, before venturing inside where you will be greeted by an artisan brewery, a cafe and a brasserie. Unsurprisingly, beer takes centre stage, whether in beer-food pairings or in the recipes themselves. For example, the chef may add a kick to crispy shrimp fritters courtesy of Monk’s Grand Cru beer, unless you would prefer a hotpot of juicy pork cheeks simmered in Gulden Draak beer? Hopspot oozes character and is the perfect place to stop for a meal when out bicycling.
