Alexis Gauthier’s eponymous restaurant occupies a handsome Regency townhouse in the heart of Soho. You ring the doorbell for entry, which adds to the sense of being in the know; inside, there's a formality you rarely find in vegan restaurants, so your fellow guests are often here to celebrate a special occasion. The tasting menus offer a range of appealing seasonal constructions underpinned by Gauthier's classical French background, while the desserts are often a highlight, such as summer blossom and courgette with toasted vanilla ice cream, chamomile and lemon thyme.
