A real oasis of calm in the middle of Berlin, right on busy Potsdamer Platz! Up here on the fifth floor of The Mandala Hotel, diners can sit on the pleasant little terrace amid the chestnut trees and fountain – a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city! And if you eat inside the chic, light and airy rooftop garden restaurant, you almost feel as if you are outdoors thanks to the wraparound glass windows. Beautiful bamboo plants are a nod to Asia. In addition to the location, Facil boasts top-notch cuisine by Michael Kempf (culinary director) and Joachim Gerner (head chef). For instance, the perfectly cooked fillet of premium-quality char combined with dill, caviar and beurre blanc demonstrates a passion for classic cuisine, which is implemented with the same skill that is applied to Mediterranean and Asian influences in dishes such as "Langustino from the Faroe Islands, rowan berries, carrots and curry herb". The five- to eight-course set menu powerfully showcases the fantastic ingredients with all the fullness of their flavours. The pleasant service does the rest – an extremely attentive and highly trained team, including a masterful sommelier.
