There is a cosy feel to this inviting, rustic-style restaurant, where exposed wooden beams, brickwork and two striking chandeliers fashioned from bottles add to the charming atmosphere. The large windows offer a lovely view of the pond. The appealing, seasonally focused menu features dishes such as tender, gently simmered veal rump with bouillon vegetables and horseradish; crispy pan-fried corn-fed chicken breast on crushed potato and endive with sliced chestnut mushrooms; and grilled octopus on herb risotto with peppers and raw marinated courgette. Alternatively, a four-course set menu is available, with the option of ordering individual dishes from it à la carte – making fine dining easy to explore. Service is attentive. Tip: There is also a cookery school – ask about upcoming classes.
