It's hard to believe that, just a 20min drive from the centre of Amsterdam, the Ronde Hoep polder is an oasis of tranquillity. The Loers family has called it home since the early 20C, transforming this 1626 property over the generations into a local institution. The atmosphere is wonderfully cosy, with its old Dutch interior, and especially those views across meadows and winding waterways. It doesn't get more enchanting than this! The extensive menu is every bit as appealing and leans towards the traditional. House favourites such as onion soup, calf's liver with Port sauce and rib-eye steak with freshly cut fries sit alongside dishes featuring wasabi, well-balanced ceviche and thoughtful vegetarian options. De Voetangel embraces new ideas without losing its timeless charm.
