L'avis du Guide Michelin
The warm family spirit that defines De Leuf leaves a lasting impression. Diners are welcomed by hostess Sandra van de Bunt, alongside her daughter Michelle, and son Robin, who is in charge in the kitchen. The trio's enthusiasm and dedication are extraordinary. The creative chef draws inspiration from his travels throughout Asia, without turning his back on the classic finesse for which this establishment is known. Over the years, he has developed a culinary identity entirely of his own. His cooking is highly technical, intricate and inventive, and complexity is confidently embraced. The moment you arrive, the chefs prepare a series of amuse-bouches at the dining counter – and the adventure begins. The steak tartare is a house signature: quality hand-cut beef with shallot and oyster is surrounded by a smoked ponzu vinaigrette and enhanced with oyster ice cream and a quenelle of caviar for an extra saline flourish. Asian intensity and French depth are brought together and refined by remarkable vinaigrettes and sauces. Individuality also defines the decor, which combines regional materials with a Japanese Zen aesthetic. This half-timbered farmhouse (1769) is a paragon of contemporary class and character. A totally immersive experience.
