With its clean lines, exposed concrete and warm wood finishings, the minimalist design of this restaurant feels both elegant and modern. The spacious two-storey layout with a bar on the upper level adds architectural intrigue. Large windows afford panoramic views of the surroundings. There is also a lovely terrace. For his seasonally inspired five- or six-course set menu, chef Robert Bauer prepares select ingredients, including local produce, to create contemporary cuisine with a cosmopolitan twist. A vegetarian version is available. On Wednesdays and Thursdays the enticing "Genussmenü für zwei" is a deal for two that includes a bottle of wine. In addition, wine tastings and special evening events are held regularly. The name Charles' & Frank's is a reference to the founders of Peneder, the company in whose building the restaurant is located.
