There's a rustic feel to this welcoming and passionately run restaurant, thanks to the exposed brickwork and wooden beams decorating the period building. The cooking uses modern techniques in the service of classically based dishes such as pan-fried sea bass with wilted spinach, olive oil potato purée, brown shrimp beurre blanc and chilli oil. Each plate is generous in both size and flavour, while the chefs incorporate occasional international influences such as shawarma-spiced Barbary duck breast. Come at Sunday lunchtime for the same cooking at a lower price.
