This relaxed, homely bistro sits within an attractive 18th-century townhouse on an ancient cobbled square in the Old Town and is run by local celebrity chef Bo Bech. The team work calmly in the open kitchen crafting honest, bistro-style dishes from local ingredients; lunchtime sees a selection of smørrebrød – maybe duck sausages with pickled beetroots and chives or suckling pig with baked Jerusalem artichokes and a fried egg – while dinner offers well-priced dishes such as lamb heart with cherries and wood sorrel. If you come in the evening, arrive early for a drink in the basement wine bar.
