The waterside terrace is a major draw, as is the option of staying overnight in guestrooms upstairs after an unhurried evening over dinner. André Gerrits's influence is clear to see on the menu, which fuses French classics with flavours from around the world and an Asian kick. A creamy tom kha kai with chicken, for example, has a measured spiciness, and beef tartare seasoned with sambal shows how familiar bistro dishes are given a distinctive twist. Bas Stark brings it all to life with an approachable style that perfectly suits the ethos of the house.
