L'avis du Guide Michelin
This small, proudly run café and bistro is named after the An Bhearú (River Barrow), the second longest river in Ireland, which runs through the town of New Ross. During the day, experienced chef-owner Dave Rowley offers hearty breakfasts and soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch; on Friday and Saturday nights, he turns his hand to more restaurant-style fare. The unfussy, classically based dishes burst with flavour thanks to the superb quality of the ingredients – as seen in the likes of pan-roasted monkfish with a shrimp and caper beurre noisette.
